Job Summary/Basic Function:
The Center for Disability Services at Everett Community College provides a variety of support and accommodation services to enable student academic success. We are seeking a highly motivated and student focused individual to join our dedicated team, which serves a diverse community on campus.
Reporting to the Director of the Center for Disability Services (CDS), the Program Specialist 2 identifies and implements specific academic adjustments that are deemed appropriate for individual students.
These services include but are not limited to: acquisition or production of materials in alternative format (including Braille, audio books, electronic text, large print or captions), problem solving accommodation issues with students, staff, and faculty, and train students on use of technology. Represent and communicate on behalf of the Director/Assistant Director in their absence.
Provide students, staff, program participants and/or the public with information and presentations related to disability services, interpretation of policies and activities. Compose written communications and establish and maintain records relating to program operations.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in education, human services, psychology, sociology, social work or closely related field
Demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities, preferably in higher education
Communicate and work respectfully and effectively with people from diverse backgrounds such as racial, ethnic, religious, linguistic, gender, age, sexual orientation, socio-economic, and with diverse physical and learning disabilities
Demonstrated ability to multi-task and attend to student needs and program duties in a busy office environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively
Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and provide continual high quality customer service in difficult situations.
Knowledge of or willingness to learn federal and state laws regarding disability access and compliance, including Section 504, 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the ADA
Experience with various types of adaptive technology and production of class and electronic materials and media into accessible formats
Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree in education, human services, psychology, sociology, social work or closely related field
Demonstrated skills in word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail and the Internet
Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL)
Three years experience providing adaptive technology interventions to solve technology access issues with a broad array of disability populations, preferably higher education environment
Experience engaging and working with different educational, social, non-profit and governmental entities
