Position Summary
The Referral and Medical Records Coordinator will coordinate with all UIWRSO clinic affiliations and insurances to streamline referrals, communication and distribution of medical records. This is full-time position where duties and responsibilities will evolve as the clinical network expands.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in electronic medical records is essential. A basic understanding of clinic operations and HIPAA guidelines are expected. Good communication and organizational skills are essential. Must demonstrate sound judgment and attention to detail. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work under pressure are required. The position requires the skills to interact with the public and fellow co-workers with respect. Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures. Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.
Required Education
High School Diploma or its equivalent.
Required Work Experience
One year related work experience in a clinical service setting.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in an optometry/ophthalmology practice and some college course work. Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Work Hours
9am-6pm Monday-Friday
Work hours are subject to change based on the needs of the clinic and school for each semester. UIWRSO personnel will be subject to the leave and holiday policies of the School of Optometry and its clinical services, which may differ from those of UIW.
