STUDENT SUCCESS/RETENTION SUPPORT SPECIALIST (Student Services Professional IA or IB)

Primary Duties:
SSP-IA:
Under the direct supervision of the SSP III, Associate Dean, and Dean, the SSP IA will perform professional student services related to recruitment, retention, academic advising, program assessment, and assisting with marketing the College of Agriculture to prospective students, parents, and teachers. This position assists with the communication and public relations and serves as a liaison to agricultural students, instructors and general public. Responsibilities include: answering questions and assisting SSP III with solving admission and retention problems for incoming and current students as well as assisting with advising, monitoring, and tracking student enrollment.

This position is classified at the trainee level (Range A). Employees possessing little or no experience will be placed in Range A and will function, with closer supervision, in a trainee capacity for approximately six months to twelve months (not to exceed twelve months). Upon successful completion of the training, the incumbent is expected to be able to perform the duties of the Student Services Professional I, Range B classification under general supervision.
