Job Description
The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is recruiting for an Insurance and Risk Specialist for the Human Resources Department and Business Center North (BCN). The position will specialize in risk management and insurance programs for five Northern campuses in the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) as well as manage insurance programs, including property and loss prevention, interpret insurance coverage questions, work closely with brokers and BCN campuses to administer annual insurance policy renewals and distribution of insurance certificates. Daily duties include: investigating property, liability, auto, and other claims; analyzing risk, safety, and claims data to provide reports. Other duties include overseeing the International Travel Program at UNR; approving internship and service learning sites for UNR students; participating in emergency preparedness, student engagement and other committees on UNR campus. This position is also responsible for reviewing a variety of contracts to ensure they satisfy BCN insurance and indemnity requirements; estimating financial implications; supervising staff and student employees; overseeing the risk management budget; and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's and two (2) years OR a Master's and one (1) year of experience.
Related Experience: Insurance and/or risk management

A valid Class C Nevada driver's license or higher operator's license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
