Student Assistant for the Office of Medical and Interprofessional Education (SOM)

Position Summary
The Student Assistant for the Office of Medical and Interprofessional Education (SOM) assists with administrative tasks within the Office of Medical and Interprofessional Education (OMIE).

This position is funded by the Federal Work-Study program and is open to UIW students who are approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
-Organize paper and electronic files;
-Assist with report creation and distribution;
-Assist with department activities, events, and meetings;
-Perform other duties as assigned by OMIE Manager

Job Duties


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Computer skills including use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint;
-Organizational skills;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Current UIW student approved and eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program

Due to the nature of this position, the selected candidate cannot be in or applying for the DO/MBS programs.

Required Work Experience


Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of experience assisting in a dynamic office environment

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations


Work Hours
To be determined by class schedule;

This position is NOT located on the Broadway Campus. The SOM Brooks campus is located at 7615 Kennedy Hill Dr, San Antonio, TX 78235, about 15 minutes south of the Broadway campus. Therefore, a reliable means of transportation is of importance.
