Carroll University (CU) is seeking a Visiting Lecturer in Philosophy for the Spring 2021 semester. Innovative candidates who value a dynamic and comprehensive approach to curriculum and instruction, and enjoy interacting with students and colleagues, are encouraged to apply. Any area of specialization is welcome. The successful candidate will teach classes that complement the offerings of a small program.

Qualifications: Completed Ph.D. in Philosophy or related field preferred, ABD considered. Preference will be given to candidates with a documented record of excellence in teaching.

Responsibilities: The person hired will teach four courses in Philosophy in the Spring 2021 semester. We have needs in Introductory Philosophy, applied ethics, and logic. There may also be an opportunity to teach upper level courses in philosophy of art and ethical theory.

Rank and Salary: This is a full-time, non-tenure track position as Instructional Faculty. Salary will be based on qualification and previous experience.

The Department: The Department of English, Modern Languages, and Philosophy in the College of Arts and Sciences includes majors in English and Writing as well as Spanish, and minors in French and Philosophy.

The College: The College of Arts and Sciences offers undergraduate and graduate programs through seven departments - Communication and Sociology; Computational and Physical Sciences (chemistry and biochemistry, computer science, information technology, mathematics, physics, software engineering); Education; English, Modern Languages and Philosophy; History, Political Sciences and Religious Studies; Life Sciences (animal behavior, biology, environmental science, psychology); and Visual and Performing Arts.
