POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK:

This is a full-time, AFT position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Note: This position is in the "NL" category of employment (non-fixed work week) An AFT- NL professional staff member or librarian who is required to work beyond 35 hours shall be compensated through compensatory time off. Compensatory time shall be earned for hours worked beyond the normal work week, or on an employee's regular day off, if requested and approved by their supervisor.

AFT - U18 - Steps 1-2
$53,277 - $55,940

Internal Applicant Salary is based upon Union Contract Negotiations

JOB SUMMARY:

The individual, under the direction of the Associate Director, Center for Student Involvement (CSI), will lead on financial management of student organizations and activities (known as Student Activity Resource Management- SARM), student staff hiring and training, the College's student engagement platform (Campus Groups/Archway), CSI social media, and CSI website management.

Examples of Duties


DUTIES:

  • Trains CSI Professional Staff, CSI Student Staff, and club and organization leaders on Ramapo College financial policies and procedures.
  • Trains aforementioned constituents on internal CSI financial policies and procedures.
  • Trains SARM student staff on how to process check requisitions and purchase orders, reimbursements, purchasing card receipts, and Accounts Payable vouchers.
  • Reviews said payments after student staff review before final submission to Purchasing and Accounts Payable offices.
  • Liaises with staff in other offices including Purchasing and Accounts Payable.
  • Organizes and leads on the student staff hiring process for returning student staff and new student staff.
  • Organizes and leads on student staff training prior to the fall semester, spring semester, and monthly in-service style trainings.
  • Serve as the point person for all Archway (student engagement platform through Campus Groups) for the College. This includes training constituents and sending weekly updates/announcements to all users.
  • Liaise with Ramapo ITS for technical needs related to Archway.
  • Leads on CSI's main social media accounts to grow and market CSI office programs and resources
  • Counsels CSI Professional Staff, CSI Student Staff, and club and organization leaders on College social media policies and procedures.
  • Liaises with College's social media team.
  • Leads on CSI's main website and various department pages.
  • Counsels CSI Professional Staff on College website policies and procedures.
  • Liaises with College's website team.
  • Advise and train student Allocations Committee.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

This position requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on attention to detail. Ability to accurately manage financial matters and communication and technical aspects of student engagement platform, website, and social media. Must possess outstanding interpersonal skills, with strong customer focus. Be willing to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and deal with confidential and sensitive matters in a professional manner. Willing to work night shifts when necessary.

Qualifications


REQUIREMENTS:

Education

Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor's degree. Masters degree preferred.

Experience

Two years professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education, higher education or other field that is directly related to the functions of the position to be filled or equivalency as determined by the appointing authority. Applicants who do not possess the required education may substitute required experience on a year-for-year basis (30 credit hours is considered one year of college.)
