Biological Sciences

The Department of Biological Sciences at Western Michigan University seeks applications for an academic year, tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, beginning in Fall 2025, pending budgetary approval.

We invite applications from candidates whose cross-cutting research focuses on cell/molecular biology or virology in the context of human health or the environment. The successful candidate is expected to establish an extramurally funded research program, train Master's and PhD students, and support the success of students, including under-represented groups in STEM. They will also teach graduate and undergraduate courses in their area of expertise and serve on university and departmental committees. A PhD and relevant post-doctoral experience are required. Other opportunities for collaborations exist across the university, in the Kalamazoo community, and with the WMU Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. Competitive salary, start-up funding and laboratory space will be offered.
