Job Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director for Support Services (SASS), this position serves as the lead case manager for Student Accommodations and Support Services. The Senior Case Manager is responsible for supporting the Associate Director for Support Services and takes point on specialized case management processes. The Senior Case Manager is responsible for facilitating/coordinating connection to support services for students to aid in student success and retention. In addition to managing cases, the Senior Case Manager will mentor all case managers in helping students navigate accommodations, university processes, basic needs support, academic resources, and serve as the primary leader in coordinating Passport student care for the SASS team.
The Senior Case Manager must be able to balance higher level cases, sensitive data, confidential communications, engage in culturally sensitive dialogue with multiple stakeholders, and work with students in crisis in a timely and efficient manner.
While the Senior Case Manager reports directly to the Associate Director for Student Support Services, they will be part of the broader SASS team and dedicated to supporting students with the goal of increasing student success and retention. They will build collaborative internal and external relationships, work closely with Student Affairs and University leadership to connect students in need of resources and support.
This is a revised position at the university, and we are looking for people willing to take initiative and be creative.

The salary for this position is $64,272. In addition to salary, the university offers a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and disability insurance and retirement. - Bachelors degree in Counseling, Education, Social Work, or a related field
- Five (5) years of relevant professional experience that includes advising students or serving as a case manager
- Experience interpreting a variety of documentation and determining appropriate actions
- High level of cultural humility and experience working effectively with marginalized populations
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated experience with foster youth support services
- Demonstrated experience with homeless/at risk of homelessness populations
- Demonstrated experience with supporting students in crisis
- Experience developing, coordinating, and planning training
Preferred Qualifications:

- Masters degree in Counseling, Education, Social Work, or a related field
- Knowledge of theories and practices related to college student development
- Experience with assessment
- Proficiency in EAB Navigate, AIM and Maxient software platforms
- Direct experience working with college or young adult population with mental health, learning, attentional, or chronic health conditions
- Demonstrated experience with disability/accommodation services
- Mental Health Professional License
- Bilingual

Job Duties:
Passport to Careers Oversight
- Oversee Passport to Careers Program, including acting as Designated Support Staff for Passport to Careers at EWU, and primary case manager for 50-100 Passport-designated students
- May include supervision of Graduate Student for Passport Support
- Co-manage Passport to Careers administrative duties and budget with supervisor
- Facilitate emergency housing process with EWU Housing and other constituents
- Coordinate Break and Summer Housing for students at risk of homelessness with EWU Housing and other constituents
Case Management
- Manage individual caseload of approximately 100-150 (non-Passport) students per year, and maintain full, accurate, and up-to-date case records in appropriate case management systems
- Provide consultation to faculty, staff, parents, and other health care providers, for purposes of care coordination and referrals to community and private resources as appropriate
- Conduct individual intakes with students to determine appropriate supports, accommodations, resources, auxiliary services, and available supplemental information to support academic success, retention, and graduation.
- Provide support, resources, referrals, resources, and assistance with navigating university-wide operations, on-and-off campus service coordination, accommodations, problem-solving, and help for students who are impacted by traumatic, disruptive, or disturbing life events (i.e., intimate partner violence, bias motivated incidents, major illness/injury, etc.)
- Review and verify student submitted documentation in accordance with university policies
- Ensure timeliness of student case management from referral/intake to administration of appropriate support measures
- Develop individualized success plans students at risk of dropping out or withdrawing from school with colleagues as needed
- Build, maintain, and enhance a sense of belonging and community for students who seek additional support or are eligible for SASS-supported programs.
Administration
- Develop, implement, and evaluate annual goals, learning objectives, and program objectives for SASS
- Assist with onboarding and provide mentorship of SASS Case Manager team
- Maintain administrative reports, compile data on program activities, and coordinate assessment processes used to analyze and evaluate effectiveness of the SASS services, usage, and outreach
- Coordinate tabling, outreach, and educational efforts for SASS team
- Maintain a thorough knowledge of university policies and procedures as they relate to student accommodations and support services, communications, and university facilities
- Maintain current knowledge of changes in university policies
- Develop programmatic partnerships and coalitions with academic and administrative departments as well as student and community organizations
- Promote support services and serve as a point of contact for campus partners
- Serve as a resource by providing referral and assistance information to students, staff, and faculty regarding grievances, alleged discrimination, and harassment, in accordance with campus policies
- Assist other administrative departments in responding to such complaints as needed
- Analyze current issues, trends, and best practices - on the local, regional, and national level - related to accommodations, disability services, support services, inclusion, higher education, and students in crisis
- Assist in maintenance of a bank of student support referral options throughout the Universitys primary service area that can serve specific student needs {childcare, SNAP, housing, food assistance, mental/physical/social/spiritual health, and culturally relevant resources)
- Monitor Passport student supply closet and inventory
- Serve on university and/or division committees as appropriate
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor(s)
