Digital Operations Coordinator
Job Summary
Provide key project and supervisory support for the Head of Digital Operations. This includes leading a team of part-time technicians, acting as liaison with clients when projects launch, and staying current with the latest digitization technologies, equipment, and techniques.
This individual will be responsible for transferring analog still image formats to digital formats as well as transferring various analog media to digital formats. Duties may entail technical planning, development, integration, verification, validation, and support for software tools and applications. This individual will be required to coordinate projects with various library departments, university clients, and clients external to campus in a professional and timely manner that enhances and expands the Marriott Digital Library.
This position is required to work on campus full-time. Telecommuting will only be authorized for occasional/exceptional circumstances.

Responsibilities
Organizing, coordinating, and launching patron related digital production projects and processes. This includes meeting with various library departments, campus patrons, and patrons external to campus to fulfill digitization needs as well as creating digital assets for the digital library.
Supervising and evaluating a team of technicians and their production projects related to digitization processes. This includes training, supervising, and evaluating staff for efficiency and output.
Producing, organizing, and loading digital objects into the digital asset management system. The includes, but is not limited to digitizing manuscripts, photographs, and negatives using high quality cameras and scanners, creating preservation grade digital files, and performing quality control for online digital assets.
Troubleshooting hardware and software issues that arise as well as material challenges. This includes ensuring that damaged and/or fragile material receive proper handling, care, and conservation treatments.
Developing timelines, schedules, and processes to complete projects. Meeting deadlines and customer specifications while staying within budget. Online asset management training to collection managers or staff may also be required.
Other duties and projects as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years experience in performing professional media-related services, or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Specific skills in photography, editing, writing, and/or video and audio production required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.

Preferences
Experience working with varied and changing technologies.
Working knowledge of digital asset management systems.
Working knowledge of cameras, lighting techniques, scanners as well as familiarity with post-processing software included in Adobe Suite.
Demonstrated leadership, project management and training skills.
Ability to transport, assemble, maintain, and troubleshoot equipment used in multimedia production.
Demonstrated proficiency and capability with information technology systems in the context of an academic library.
