The College of DuPage is a comprehensive community college located 27 miles west of downtown Chicago, vitally connected to our local area for over 50 years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

College of DuPage seeks two full-time, tenure-track faculty members to teach Writing Studies courses starting in August 2026.

The English Department offers an Associates of Arts in Writing Studies and a Professional Writing Certificate. Courses focus on rhetorical theory and its application in academic, public, and professional contexts. The Writing Studies program, winner of both CCCC's Certificate of Excellence and TYCA's Outstanding Program in English, is seeking a technical writing and/or digital writing expert, to teach such courses at Workplace Writing, Technical Writing, Digital Writing, Writing in the Professions, and Writing for Nonprofits.

We are actively seeking innovative, collaborative colleagues who regularly examine their pedagogy and practices in order to foster more equitable, accessible, and inclusive student learning.

Faculty duties include classroom instruction, assessment, curriculum development, advising students, professional inquiry, committee work, and engaging with instructional technology.

Teaching assignments may include various delivery modes, such as face-to-face, on-line, hybrid and/or blended formats during days, evenings and weekends. Faculty positions may not be fully remote.

Qualifications:

Education

Master's degree in Rhetoric/Composition/Professional Writing or Master's degree in related Writing Studies discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Rhetoric/Composition/Professional Writing required.

Experience

Experience teaching at the college level is required.
Experience teaching at the community college level is preferred.

Foreign Transcripts: Transcripts issued outside the United States require a course-by-course analysis with an equivalency statement from a certified transcript evaluation service verifying the degree equivalency to that of an accredited institution within the USA.
