Position Description

Seattle University has an exciting, dynamic opportunity for a Graduate Nursing Program Coordinator to join our community. This position reports to the Vice Dean for Nursing and is a member of a team that oversees operational processes and activities for the graduate nursing academic programs for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, including the Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion (APNI) program (an accelerated pre-licensure nursing program). It also serves as a liaison to College- and University-level operational groups/units to represent administrative matters pertaining to graduate nursing programs. The role includes assisting with program coordination of activities related to academic/student affairs and success, event management, and marketing and communications.

Essential Functions:


Student Services

  • Collaborate with the Dean's Office, faculty, Office of the Registrar, Graduate Admissions and Student Financial Services to resolve registration issues (e.g. students' leave of absence, enrollment withdrawal, requests for permission for exception to policy, registration overrides, coursework drop/add procedures, switching specialty tracks, etc.)
  • Guide student cohorts for the selection of student representatives and quarterly meetings with the Vice Dean.
    Facilitate timely communication with students around major issues.

Project and Program Management
  • Plan and manage various projects for the Dean's office including: preparation, submission, and tracking of curricular/course proposal and change forms; and reviewing and editing the graduate program catalog.
  • Assist program and college administrators with developing and implementing program review and improvement initiatives, including program assessment, evaluation, and strategic planning.
  • Coordinate graduate nursing program events including: recruitment and admissions events, Scholarship Day, DNP Hooding, APNI Welcome to the Profession (pinning), and New Student Orientations.
  • Work with Deans' Office administrators to manage data for program quality improvement plan and analysis of program outcomes.
  • Assist with preparing accreditation and regulatory reports, including but not limited to that required/requested by the Washington State Board of Nursing and national accreditation bodies such as the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and those pertaining to specialty advanced practice nursing education.
  • Compile and track graduate nursing program data for reports and coordinate the submission to state, regional and national agencies.
  • Create and coordinate quarterly course evaluations for graduate nursing program courses.
  • Manage the students' final submission of DNP Project to ensure recording for graduation completion.
  • Attend meetings related to graduate nursing curriculum, Graduate Selection Committee and other ad hoc committees or meetings established to address graduate nursing program matters.
  • Monitor and keep updated graduate nursing program policies and procedures in alignment with College- and University-level policies.
  • Partner with Adjunct Faculty, College of Nursing and Director of Marketing - Graduate Enrollment to ensure accurate and up to date information is provided for admissions, marketing, advancement, and communication purposes.
  • Assist in obtaining information and content about pursuits and accomplishments of graduate faculty, staff, students, alumni, and external partners related to graduate nursing programs, for college- and university-level marketing, communications, and advancement staff.
  • Maintain and provide (historic and current) information related to departmental academic programs, events, and systems.
  • Collaborates with other staff (i.e., APNI advisor and graduate programs clinical placement coordinator) in ensuring effective communication/coordination among faculty, students, and clinical agencies concerning required clinical placements.
  • Supervise and train graduate nursing program work-study students.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned by Vice Dean.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two or more years of progressively responsible program coordination or management experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
  • This position requires excellent writing skills, and skills in document processing, and spreadsheet applications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Must be accurate, able to prioritize activities, and accomplish multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Must possess the ability to monitor, assess, and triage evolving situations and take initiative to suggest and/or implement solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience or knowledge of graduate programs specifically in the healthcare fields.
  • Experience with Power BI.

Compensation at a Glance

Annual Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $53,000.00

Seattle University has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, and not based on a candidate's gender or any other protected status.

Hybrid Eligible

This position may be eligible for a hybrid schedule after successful completion of an introductory work period of 3-6 months. This may mean that a hybrid eligible role will begin on-campus initially and then will transition to hybrid format following onboarding and training. Flexible work plans are subject to periodic review and may be changed or terminated at any time for any reason at the university's discretion.
