Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Conducts academic and career advising, career assessments, and transfer advising; provides information regarding degree and transfer requirements; and monitors academic progress of Success Scholars students;
  • Screens, interviews, evaluates, and processes incoming Success Scholars students;
  • Works with students to develop academic plans of study and advises students on their academic plan, course selection/sequencing, curriculum/concentration selection and changes, and transition issues;
  • Assists students in registering, adding, or withdrawing from courses;
  • Assists students in obtaining developmental and tutorial assistance;
  • Assigns academic advisors and notifies students/faculty of advisor assignments;
  • Participates in new student orientations;
  • Coordinates activities with other programs and refers students to other services as appropriate;
  • Attends meetings/events, serves on committees, and makes presentations;
  • Conducts academic informational sessions and workshops, including leadership, social, and educational programming;
  • Collects, organizes, and disseminates statistical data and maintains and updates student files in accordance with Success Grant reporting requirements;
  • Maintains professional knowledge in applicable areas, researches new trends, and advances in the profession;
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with college faculty and staff;
  • Coordinates and supervises transfer, cultural trips, and information sessions, including but not limited to campus tours, information sessions, and transcript review sessions;
  • Identifies and connects students to participate in SUCCESS Scholars engagement and wellness initiatives to fostering a sense of belonging, connection, and personal development.
  • Researches and applies evidence-based practices in student engagement, wellness education, academic advising, and retention by integrating strategies that promote student persistence, resilience, and holistic success.
  • Collaborates with campus partners to design, implement, and assess engagement and wellness programs by aligning efforts with institutional goals for student success and continuous program improvement.
  • Coordinates with the SUCCESS Scholars Director on implementing best practices, focusing on continuous program improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology or closely related field; with three (3) years experience and/or training involving college admissions, academic advisement, career development, or program/project management; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Preferred:
  • Demonstrated experience working with diverse student populations;
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion;
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing, interpreting, and utilizing data;
  • Experience developing and implementing student engagement and wellness initiatives that promote belonging, academic success, and holistic student development;
  • Demonstrated experience building collaborative relationships;
  • Demonstrated experience with EAB Navigate/GradesFirst platforms;
  • Multi-lingual; Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, Spanish, French, or Portuguese;
  • Strong communication skills.

Hours: 37.5 hours weekly

Salary: $69,821.00-$80,311.00 Annually

Salary range may be adjusted based on the classification study and is subject to increase with higher education or relevant qualifications

Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.
