Adjunct Faculty, Funeral Services
SALARY: Adjunct salaries are dependent upon the number of credit hours. Minimum salary is $1,397 per credit hour. Actual salary is commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a non-benefited, MCCC position.
The Department of Funeral Service Education is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member for the Spring 2026. The instructor will deliver high-quality instruction aligned with program outcomes, accreditation standards, and current professional practices in funeral service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach one or more sections of Funeral Service courses.
- Prepare course syllabi that meet all contractual requirements.
- Available to teach courses on Tuesdays, in person on the Danvers, MA campus. This is not a remote position.
- Use appropriate assessment tools to accurately measure student understanding of class subject matter.
- Monitor email communications from students and the college, and respond in a timely manner.
- Contact dean or advising staff as necessary regarding student issues
- Meet all deadlines for submission of grades, student participation reports, student grievance responses and other administrative documentation
Job Requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred.
- Graduate of an ABFSE accredited program.
- A current, active license with Massachusetts Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.
- A minimum of five years of current practice experience in the field of funeral service, including embalming and RA experience.
- Prior teaching or training experience preferred.
- Experience teaching online/hybrid and/or embedding the use of technology into curriculum, preferred.
- Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment
