Job Summary

The full-time education faculty member will teach education classes within the Department of Curriculum, Foundations and Reading in the College of Education on the Georgia Southern University - East Georgia Campus. This will focus predominantly on undergraduate courses in reading and general education in face-to-face and online formats, with content related to the science of reading. Travel between campus locations may be necessary.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Earned Master's degree (or higher) in Education or closely related field with at least eighteen graduate-level semester credit hours in reading/literacy education by August 1, 2026.

Required Experience

Minimum three years of experience as a full-time teacher in a K-12 setting.
Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
Demonstrated commitment to teaching.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Successful college teaching experience is desirable.
Ability to teach face-to-face and online courses.

Proposed Salary

$62,000

This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.

Conditions of Employment
