Job Summary
The Second Language Teaching and Research Center (L2TReC ) supports research on Second Language (L2) and works with L2 teachers at all levels of instruction. L2TReC serves as the administrative hub for the Utah Bridge Program team. L2TReC is seeking a .875 Program Manager to serve as a Spanish Bridge Program Coordinator with a start date of July 1, 2026. L2TReC is open to coordination with the Department of World Languages and Cultures to create a combined full time position (e.g., .875 FTE Coordinator and .125 FTE Spanish adjunct faculty teaching Bridge Program courses, or other combinations of combined 1.0 FTE) which would involve a separate application and interview process.
The Coordinator will work as a team member under the direction of the Bridge Program Manager. Coordinators work across languages as needed in order to support program implementation, including conducting regular high school site visits, modeling instructional practices, coordinating curriculum team meetings and curriculum development, and designing professional learning for high school and university instructors.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of related experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience). Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required. Language proficiency of Advanced-High or higher in Spanish.

Responsibilities
- Attend regular team meetings and collaborate with the state Bridge team, including Bridge director and L2TReC director to support grade 10-12 program.
- Collaborate, communicate, and attend meetings between Bridge and state DLI teams.
- Facilitate and lead university curriculum development teams ensuring input from state universities.
- Communicate with diverse stakeholders (e.g. print and email, parent nights) to support access and growth of the program.
- Contribute to and lead state professional development, (e.g. Summer Bridge Institute and fall and spring PD workshops).
- Conduct regular classroom visits; communicate with and support high school and university co-instructors; and provide regular updates to state team on visits.
- Organizes, directs and controls all aspects of a site, project or program within an academic, research or administrative unit.

Preferences
The ideal candidate will have a Master's or higher degree in the field of education and prior instruction or involvement in the State of Utah Bridge Program. Other preferences include teaching certificate; advanced proficiency in Spanish; demonstrated familiarity with K16 second language curriculum development and program articulation; demonstrated familiarity with state level language policy development and implementation; experience developing and managing ongoing professional development projects; experience conducting fidelity studies and curricular evaluation in K12 classrooms; and experience managing proficiency assessment in K12 contexts.
