Job Summary
Summer Helpers support the Custodial team during peak summer operations by assisting with cleaning, linen distribution, furniture preparation, and special projects such as mattress replacement. This role is physically active and essential to preparing spaces for incoming summer residents and conference guests. Team members work collaboratively, follow established procedures, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and service.

Responsibilities
Linen & Supply Support
- Push and transport linen carts between buildings throughout Heritage Commons (up to a one mile radius, multiple trips as needed).
- Distribute linens to assigned rooms, including blankets, pillows, sheets, pillowcases, amenities, mattress covers, and shower curtains.
- Install mattress covers and shower curtains as part of room preparation.
- Cleaning & Room Preparation
- Perform routine cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down furniture and surfaces.
- Move furniture away from walls to prepare rooms for deep cleaning by custodial staff.
Operational Support
- Assist with mattress replacement projects as needed.
- Work weekends when required to support summer turnover timelines and operational needs
Minimum Qualifications
EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
General Laborer, I: Requires little to no related experience.
Preferences
Perform a wide variety of manual duties that involve physical labor. Responsibilities vary by setting, an may include transporting materials, performing clean-up, hauling, lifting items, and loading and unloading materials. Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment. Perform routine task as directed and under close supervision.
Special Instructions
Able to lift 50 lbs.
