Salary: $40,000 annually. Compensation will be commensurate upon experience and qualifications.

This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) overtime provisions.

Summary

Assistant coach for the varsity women's lacrosse team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.

Essential Functions

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

Coaching (45%)
  1. Train varsity women's lacrosse team for intercollegiate competition at a nationally competitive level.
  2. Assist the head coach in developing and implementing game plans.
  3. Maintain and increase knowledge of lacrosse training and coaching techniques.
  4. Supervise the training, development, and placement of staff personnel.

Recruiting (25%)
  • Evaluate prospective student-athletes.
  • Develop and maintain correspondence for prospective student-athletes.
  • Schedule, coordinate and supervise official and unofficial visits of prospective student-athletes.

Academics (15%)
  • Monitor academic performance of student-athletes.
  • Counsel student-athletes.
  • Ensure compliance with all UCCS and NCAA regulations regarding academic eligibility requirements.

Scheduling (15%)
  • Assist head coach with planning and coordinating Division II schedule within NCAA, Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and institutional guidelines.
  • Assist head coach with planning and coordinating team travel and lodging.

Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree is required
  • Must have coaching experience at the college or high school level. Experience at the Division II level is highly desirable.
  • To be considered for this role you must have experience in lacrosse training and coaching techniques.
  • This position will need to understand, or have the ability to learn, the NCAA forms and compliance requirements.
