Job Summary

Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Temporary Advancement Assistant! This position plays a critical role in supporting initiatives for the College of Arts and Sciences, Graduate School and Libraries and provides operational, programmatic and administrative support to the Advancement team. Under the guidance of the Senior Director of Development, this position provides administration support for a high-performing, collaborative fundraising team and will work on many projects and tasks.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Administrative Support
  • Provide direct administrative support to the Senior Director of Development and their development team, including assisting with calendaring, scheduling, creating biographies, reports, and documents.
  • Coordinate the inventory ordering and tracking for branded event materials and assist with event planning tasks such as venue searches/reservations, vendor inquiries/ordering, nametag printing, calendar updates, and other logistical needs.
  • Prepare and distribute communications across print and digital channels, including drafting thank you notes, memos, and invitations, and managing mail merge, label printing, and physical mailings.
  • Serve as a resource to the donor relations and alumni engagement team and various internal and external constituents. Research and capture information on various topics as necessary and expedite the flow of information to staff.
  • Support the planning and execution of special projects and donor-centered salon events aligned with fundraising priorities.
Communication Support
  • Assist with growing awareness of engagement activities among College of Arts and Sciences faculty/staff, advancement colleagues, alumni, and students as appropriate.
  • Receive and respond to donor and internal partners' inquiries.
  • Assist with the execution of physical mailings by curating the distribution list, ordering necessary supplies, and coordinating the send.
Office Management
  • Manage incoming communications and route to appropriate team members. Work as part of a team to collaborate closely with academic departments and leaders, responding to emails and messages from faculty and staff across campus.
  • Support the advancement team with upcoming campus relocation to Old Main.


What You Should Know

  • This is a temporary, part-time (20 hours per week) position anticipated to last 5 months.
  • This position has the ability to work a hybrid schedule with some days on campus and some days remote.


What We Can Offer

The pay range for this position is $27 per hour.

Benefits

Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave.

What We Require

  • A Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience may substitute for the degree on a year for year basis.
  • 1+ years of direct work experience.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with Concur travel booking and reconciliation reports.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional working relationships with peers and donors.
