Job Summary

As part of the Museum on the Move team, the School Outreach Coordinator visits 4th grade classrooms across Utah to lead engaging, standards-aligned science activities on five topics: Fossils, Plants and Animals, Archaeology, Rocks and Minerals, and the Great Salt Lake. Our goal is to deliver education programs that make science accessible and exciting, while also encouraging critical thinking and supporting student's learning of science practices and ideas. The Museum on the Move team also supports the needs of K-12 teachers and schools by designing and hosting teacher professional development opportunities that align with Utah SEEd standards. These include both standalone workshops and ongoing series like Museum Ecologist and STEM Rooted in Culture. We inspire curiosity, encourage critical thinking, and support student and teacher learning of science practices and ideas. We invite you to visit nhmu.utah.edu/educators/museum-on-move to learn more about our outreach program before applying.
