Research Associate for the Eidos LGBTQ Health Initiative

Research Associate for the Eidos LGBTQ Health Initiative
Location: School of Nursing
Open Date: Jun 18, 2026
Deadline:
The Eidos LGBTQ+ Health Initiative at the School of Nursing in the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. Eidos is a cross-sector health innovation hub dedicated to developing, testing, and scaling equity-centered solutions that improve health outcomes for LGBTQ+ communities across the life course. Operating at the intersection of academia, community, industry, and philanthropy, Eidos advances research and innovation that address behavioral, social, and structural determinants of health.
This appointment will initially be for one (1) year. Continuation during that time period and renewal are contingent upon satisfactory performance and the continued availability of funding (limited to three [3] years).
The Research Associate will advance an independent program of scholarship aligned with Eidos' mission while contributing to the Initiative's broader portfolio of translational and innovation-focused projects. Responsibilities include leading and conducting rigorous research; developing, testing, and evaluating interventions; advancing implementation and dissemination strategies; and contributing to multi-sector partnerships. The successful candidate will engage in collaborative grant development, dissemination to academic and non-academic audiences, and the translation of evidence into scalable programs, policy-relevant insights, or sustainable innovation models.
This position is ideal for scholars who aim to bridge discovery and real-world impact, and who are committed to advancing health equity through interdisciplinary collaboration and bold, systems-oriented thinking.
Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. (or equivalent doctoral degree) in public health, nursing, behavioral or social sciences, epidemiology, health policy, implementation science, or a related field. A strong record of peer-reviewed publications and evidence of independent funding are required. We are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- LGBTQ+ health and health equity
- Behavioral and social determinants of health
- Intervention development and implementation science
- Digital health and technology-enabled interventions
- Community-engaged and participatory research
- Health systems innovation or policy translation
Demonstrated ability to conduct rigorous research with translational potential and to collaborate across academic and non-academic sectors is highly desirable.
Application Instructions
Interested applicants should submit a cover letter describing their research program and its alignment with Eidos' mission, along with a curriculum vitae.
