Adjunct Faculty: Advanced Manufacturing (CNC and CAM)

Work Schedule: Consistent with MCCC contract MCCC unit position

Start Date: Fall 2026 Semester

SALARY: Minimum salary is $1,397 per credit hour. Actual salary is commensurate with the DCE Collective Bargaining Agreement

North Shore Community College (NSCC) invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in Advanced Manufacturing. This position is part of the Massachusetts Community College Council (MCCC) bargaining unit. The successful candidate will teach one or more courses, including:

  • CAD201 - Introduction to Computer Aided Manufacturing: Solidworks CAM and Fusion360 CAM
  • EGT103 - Introduction to Computer Numerical Control (CNC)
  • EGT202 - Basic Programmable Logic Controller and Automation Systems.


With a focus on CNC machining, CAM programming, and manufacturing processes.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Adjunct faculty are responsible for delivering instruction in accordance with established course outlines and institutional standards. Faculty are expected to create an effective learning environment that supports student success and meets workforce and industry expectations in advanced manufacturing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide instruction for assigned courses in accordance with NSCC and MCCC contractual guidelines.
  • Deliver lecture and laboratory instruction in CNC machining, CAM programming, and CAD/CAM integration.
  • Prepare syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with course outcomes.
  • Demonstrate CNC setup, operation, and programming, including G-code fundamentals.
  • Utilize industry-standard software, including Fusion 360 (CAM) and SolidWorks CAM.
  • Evaluate and document student performance in a timely manner in accordance with college policies.
  • Maintain scheduled office hours as required by the MCCC contract (if applicable to load).
  • Ensure a safe learning environment by enforcing all lab safety policies and procedures.
  • Submit required attendance, grading, and administrative reports.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and other college service activities as appropriate for adjunct faculty.


Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of relevant industry experience in CNC machining, CNC programming, or CAD/CAM manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CAM software such as Fusion 360 CAM and/or SolidWorks CAM.
  • Working knowledge of G-code programming and CNC machine operations.
  • Commitment to community college teaching, workforce development, and student success.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment


PREFERRED QUALIFICIATIONS:

  • Experience with CNC equipment using Fanuc, HAAS or comparable controllers.
  • Prior teaching or training experience in higher education, technical schools, or industry settings.
  • Experience with machine setup, tooling, and machining processes across materials.
  • Familiarity with PLC automation or industrial control systems.
  • Experience supporting diverse student populations and use of inclusive teaching practices.
