A class of 10 medical students per yearthe Southern Utah cohortwill begin their educational experiences at the SURMC in Fall 2027, after completing Phase 1 (2026-27) of a new mission-driven MD program on the University of Utah campus in Salt Lake City. All SURMC students are SFESOM Rural Medicine Scholars (RMS) alongside 10 additional medical students per year based in Salt Lake City who complete a longitudinal clinical training experience at other rural sites across Utah and the Mountain West.
