Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor - Addictions and Behavioral Health Focus JOB SUMMARY The University of Connecticut School of Social Work is pleased to invite applications for a full-time (9-month appointment), open-rank, tenure-line position. We seek a highly motivated, productive, and collaborative scholar committed to advancing research and education in addictions and behavioral health. We welcome applicants with expertise in intervention research, particularly those developing, evaluating, and implementing technology-based interventions.   The UConnSchool of Social Work is a national leader in graduate social work education with a tradition of educating and serving diversecommunities.We are ranked in the top 11% of schools of social work nationally and number one in Connecticut.Theschool's research doctorate is the only public social work Ph.D. program in the region. The School's research productivity is on an upward trajectory. Our externally funded research portfolio exceeds $70 million, and the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Higher Education Research and Development Survey ranked UConn Social Work No. 7 among public schools of social work and No. 11 nationally in 2024 research expenditures. Areasof distinction include child welfare and child well-being; behavioral health, trauma, and violence prevention andreduction; aging; international social work and human rights; immigrant and refugee studies; social and health disparities;diversity and cultural competence; and policy analysis, advocacy, and community organizing. Record numbers of undergraduate applications and support for student success have enabled the University to becomehighlyselective.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain an active research and publication agenda.Seekandacquireexternal funding.Teach in BSW, MSW, and/or Ph.D. programs, asappropriate, anddemonstrateeffective instruction. Advise and mentor students. Serve on doctoral student committees,asappropriate, andparticipatein University, School, professional, local, and national level service.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ph.D. in social work or a related discipline.
  • Demonstratedexcellence in scholarship, external funding,teaching,and mentoring.
  • Demonstrated experience with and commitment to team science and cross-disciplinary inquiry.
  • Demonstrated experience with and commitment tosocial work values.
  PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • M.S.W.degree.
  • Experience in social work practice.
