Position Summary

Assumes responsibility as administrative leader of The Hartt Community Division (HCD) dance programs, including oversight of all aspects of the academic year dance outreach activities and performances. Performs all duties in full support of the University's mission, understanding that the positive and effective execution of these duties are instrumental to the education of the University's HCD students.

Hiring Range: The budgeted starting salary for this 10 month position will be $45,000

Job Duties:

Provides leadership in the administration, staffing, supervision and teaching for HCD dance outreach programs and specific staff to ensure they meet the mission of the HCD as well as The Hartt School. Manages all aspects of both off-campus and satellite/outreach operations of the HCD dance programs.
Establishes, cultivates and maintains effective working relationships with satellite school/outreach coordinators in public and private schools as well as community organizations.
Pursues grant opportunities and establish new community relationships
Works with Dance Booster group in conjunction with Director of Dance Programs
Co-produces Harttworks production and coordinate other academic year and summer dance productions
Develops, reviews and proposes all HCD outreach dance program budgets in consultation with the Director of Dance Programs and the HCD Assistant Director of Finance .
Handles highly sensitive information with confidentiality and tact. Manages the HCD outreach dance programs within the framework of an approved balanced budget.
Collaborates with the Director of HCD in the development of policies, procedures and written correspondence which aid in the management of all HCD activities and programs. Collaborates with the HCD Registrar/Data Manager to maintain HCD's data management system to ensure the integrity of the data. Collaborates with HCD staff on Dance Department marketing strategy.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required (or equivalent experience for dance faculty)

Special Skills:

The ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
