Staff Associate, RISE Program

Non-Unit Professional position, 37.5 hours/week

Campus Location: Lynn Campus (with the option for 1 remote day)

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

SALARY: Salary range $75,000.00 - $85,000.00. The offered salary will be commensurate with experience and education but will not exceed the stated range. GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Reporting to the Dean of Academic and Student Development, the Staff Associate provides programmatic and operational leadership for student engagement, recruitment, retention, and enrichment initiatives associated with the RISE Program and designated SUCCESS initiatives.

The Staff Associate supports the Dean in advancing the strategic goals of SUCCESS/RISE by translating institutional priorities into programs, engagement strategies, operating practices, assessment activities, and student-facing initiatives. The position is responsible for the planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of assigned programs and serves as a primary point of leadership for RISE student engagement activities.

The Staff Associate works collaboratively across the College to develop educational, mentoring, leadership, career, wellness, cultural, transfer, and community-building opportunities that strengthen students' connection to the College and support persistence, attainment, and completion, particularly for historically underserved student populations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop, implement, and assess RISE student engagement and retention initiatives aligned with the strategic direction established by the Dean of Academic and Student Development and the broader goals of the SUCCESS Program.
  • Manage the day-to-day programmatic operations of RISE student engagement initiatives, including annual and semester planning, implementation timelines, operating procedures, program calendars, and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Lead recruitment, outreach, and communication strategies for the RISE Program, including classroom outreach, information sessions, College events, targeted student communications, referral strategies, digital platforms, social media, marketing materials, and maintenance of relevant RISE and SUCCESS web content.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive RISE cohort experience that promotes student belonging, persistence, academic achievement, mentorship, leadership development, and meaningful connection to the College and its resources.
  • Lead the planning and execution of signature RISE programs and events, including onboarding activities, semester kickoff programs, cohort gatherings, workshops, recognition events, end-of-year celebrations, and graduation-related programming.
  • Serve as the primary staff lead for RISE field trips, College visits, and experiential learning opportunities, including transfer institution visits, career exploration experiences, cultural and educational excursions, and employer or community engagement activities, with responsibility for program planning, student participation, logistics, institutional requirements, and on-site leadership.
  • Develop and administer affinity-based, peer connection, and student leadership opportunities that strengthen community, foster belonging, and create opportunities for students to build relationships, leadership capacity, and mutual support.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships across the College to develop RISE-specific opportunities and programming in areas including career development, wellness, tutoring and academic support, transfer services, student engagement, basic needs, financial aid, and other student success services.
  • Collaborate with RISE Advisors and other student success professionals to identify emerging student needs, barriers to engagement, and participation trends, and develop targeted programming and retention strategies in response.
  • Lead the collection, management, and assessment of program participation and engagement data, including student participation records, program activity documentation, student feedback, and other measures used to evaluate effectiveness and inform program improvement.
  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to RISE and designated SUCCESS Fund activities, and work with Institutional Research, Information Technology, and other College offices to define reporting needs, request specialized data, and strengthen evidence-informed program planning and assessment.
  • Administer assigned RISE and SUCCESS program resources and operations, including designated budgets, purchasing, event expenditures, vendor arrangements, scheduling, and other program resources, in accordance with College procedures and under the strategic oversight of the Dean.
  • Represent RISE and designated SUCCESS initiatives at College programs, recruitment activities, community events, and partnership meetings, and support the Dean of Academic and Student Development in advancing institutional priorities related to student access, engagement, persistence, transfer, attainment, and completion.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Marketing, Business Administration, or other field related to area of assignment with 2 years related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Knowledge of theory and best practices regarding social justice initiatives and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with student development, student co-curricular programming and leadership programs.
  • Project management and facilitation skills, including ability to work within deadlines and to provide program reporting and assessment.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide leadership and interpersonal connections with culturally diverse populations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Very strong presentation skills. Outstanding public relations and customer service skills.
  • Must have the ability to travel and work evenings and weekends for such events as Orientations, Open Houses, community engagements, graduation, etc.). A valid MA driver's license is required.
  • Must be positive, energetic, team-orientated, capable of motivating self, and require limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast- paced, rapidly growing, intense, and multifunctional office environment.
  • Demonstrated success building relationships with school guidance counselors, teachers, parents, community agency representatives, four-year state institutions, and multi-ethnic populations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds, including adult learners. (Please address this qualification in your application materials.)
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or National background check as a condition of employment.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology, Business Administration, Marketing, Education Administration, or other field related to area of assignment.
  • Community College Experience
