MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Earned doctorate in nursing (PhD or DNP) or a related field (e.g. EdD) from an accredited institution. Degree at time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2019. National board certification as an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner or successful completion of certification exam by August 1, 2019. Eligible for licensure as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner in the State of California and qualified to receive California licensure for furnishing pharmaceuticals both of which must be obtained within the first year of employment. Demonstrated excellence in teaching. Demonstrated trajectory for successful research, scholarly and creative activities. Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population.

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Science in Nursing or allied health field in addition to doctoral degree. Strong expertise in medical-surgical nursing and as an adult-gerontology primary care nurse practitioner. Strong expertise in advanced pathophysiology, advanced pharmacology, advanced physical assessment, epidemiology, and statistics. Expertise in teaching online or hybrid courses, recent work experience in the clinical setting (within the last 5 years); experience as a nursing educator in didactic and/or clinical in postsecondary nursing programs; ability to teach in more than one clinical area; record of research, publication or other scholarly and creative activities; ability to work effectively in a team-teaching, collegial setting; current knowledge of practice issues; previous experiences in curriculum development and instructional technology; success in obtaining external funding through grants and contracts.
