RATE OF PAY: $60,555 - $75,694 annual salary depending on experience

REPORTS TO: Dean of Learning Resource Center
The Director of Online Learning provides leadership for ongoing operations of hybrid, synchronous, and online courses at Nashville State. The Director is responsible for communication, collaboration, vision, strategic planning and establishing processes for development and effective delivery of online courses.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/TYPICAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership for day-to-day operations for online learning with hybrid, synchronous, online and support as needed TN eCampus online courses.
Oversee the development of new hybrid and online courses. Recommend updates, upgrades, and new technology to maintain online course effectiveness and efficiency.
Develop and deliver a robust training program for faculty on the development of online instructional materials, methodology, delivery and assessment. Provide ongoing online learning support, training and professional development to faculty.
Provide leadership for and work closely with appropriate campus constituents and the Teaching Center to expand pedagogically sound instructional design, course development and consultation to faculty and departments.
Collaborate with the Dean of the Learning Resource Center, the Teaching Center and campus constituents to develop, implement and monitor a comprehensive plan to enhance Teaching and Learning in traditional, hybrid, synchronous and asynchronous formats to support the college's strategic goals.
Work closely with Learning Management System manager and monitor TN eCampus and online processes, such as cloning, semester startup, effectiveness, efficiency, promptness and responsiveness. Provide support for developers and lead faculty, resolve problems and discern unmet needs.
Understand ADA compliance and requirements for Nashville State and TN eCampus online courses. Understand online security, testing and tutoring options and standards.
Collaborate with the Dean of the Learning Resource Center to develop assessments, tutorials and support for student pre and post enrollment in online courses.
Supervise Office of Online Learning staff.
Other duties as assigned
Master's degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems, Educational Instructional Technology, Educational Administration or other related field from an accredited institution
Three years' experience developing/designing online courses
Doctorate degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Systems, Educational Instructional Technology, Educational Administration or other related field from an accredited institution
Previous part-time or full-time teaching experience in higher education
Two or more years' experience in college administration or in a college leadership role
Experience leading and implementing college-wide projects/initiatives
Three or more years' supervisory experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of current principles and practices related to online learning pedagogies
Proficiency with learning technologies, including course management systems and HTML
Strong leadership skills
Ability to work collaboratively and to develop effective relationships with faculty and academic divisions
Effective oral and written communication skills
37.5 hours per week
