The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting for a Laboratory Technician 1 for the Leblanc lab in the Department of Pharmacology. ***This position does not offer layoff rights and is contingent upon funding. The position will assist the Leblanc Lab in its funded research projects. Other duties include, but are not limited to: maintaining the genotype of mice; organizing and culling mice; performing basic mouse surgeries and dissections; training and supervising undergraduate volunteers; creating, managing, and sorting data; organizing files and records; and other duties as assigned.
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and two years of laboratory experience performing various laboratory procedures; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
This position requires experience with mice dissection. Please be sure this is documented on your resume/cv.
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
