Job Description Summary
The Senior Research Coordinator will have primary project management responsibility for the quantitative arms of a large multi-site national study of guaranteed income. The Center for Guaranteed Income Research (CGIR) is an unconditional cash-transfer research center headquartered at the School of Social Policy and Practice at the University of Pennsylvania. CGIR conducts applied cash-transfer studies and pilot designs in concert with community-based organizations and government stakeholders in order to add to the empirical scholarship on cash, economic mobility, poverty, and narrative change, and is committed to public science that challenges dominant narratives on poverty, deservedness, and economic mobility. The job will involve designing research development and data-collection plans and coordinating their implementation across more than 20 fields sites in the U.S.

This position requires limited travel and is contingent upon grant funding.

Job Description

Lead coordination and organization of quantitative project research activities according to project timelines and goals with team members across the country. This includes designing research data-collection plans, managing data collection, protocol development, and supervising research assistants.

Assist research team members with all stages of research, including scheduling data-collection with external stakeholders, preparing materials for data collection, communicating with research sites, and completing necessary follow-ups.

Managing all aspects of the IRB process. This includes drafting protocols, submitting applications, ensuring compliance with IRB protocols throughout the entire research process, and coordinating with IRBs external to Penn.

Organize and participate in research team meetings by delegating tasks to research assistants, tracking progress, and ensuring documentation of all data-collection activities.

Working with sites to develop and organize secure electronic storage for access by project team members.

Perform additional duties as assigned.

This position requires limited travel and is contingent upon grant funding.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and 3-5 years of experience is required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred. Experience managing multi-site research studies that involves conducting primary quantitative data-collection is required. Experience supervising research assistants, delegating tasks in socio-behavioral research environments, and managing IRB protocols is required. Excellent organizational, writing and communication skills are necessary. Experience and understanding of the research process is required. Must be proficient using Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Familiarity with project management software and data-collection platforms is strongly preferred. Strong project management, planning, and organizational skills required; experience with data collection in community-based settings preferred. Candidates must submit a cover letter. The successful candidate will have primary project management responsibility on a large multi-site guaranteed income study. Duties include designing complex research development plans and coordinating their implementation according to project timelines and goals. This position will require limited travel. This position is contingent upon grant funding.
