Job Description
The Field Research Assistant will provide research assistance as part of an extramurally-funded research project in the UNR School of Community Health Sciences. The position reports to the Principle Investigator and Lead Research Assistant. This position assists in the recruitment, data collection, and data processing for a human laboratory study investigating the effect of the word organic on smoking expectancies (e.g. harm perceptions), subjective effects (e.g., taste), and topography (e.g., depth of inhalation). The Field Research Assistant recruits participants and collects data in accordance with the study's protocol and procedures. All data collection will occur on the UNR campus. This is a temporary position that will begin in July and end in December, 2019

Required Qualifications
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and objectivity while meeting with research participants.
Knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Interviewing and data collection skills.
Ability to learn/understand and apply specified field and/or laboratory research procedures and protocols.
Ability to work autonomously.
Ability and willingness to communicate effectively with diverse individuals, including substance users, under-represented racial/ethnic groups, and patients with unique health and behavioral needs.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
Interest in tobacco research/health administration and policy.

Flexible schedule working less than 20 hours per week.
