The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Utah seeks faculty candidates who can be world-class leaders in areas at the crossroads of Next Generation Electronics, Circuits, Architectures and Design Automation for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and applications. The department intends for fill one opening for a tenure-track Assistant Professor level. The department has an established research record in many of these areas, and are focused on further strengthening the expertise towards AI applications.
Areas of interest include but are not limited to:
Exceptional candidates with expertise in related areas, as well as outstanding candidates in any area, are encouraged to apply. Candidates must have a demonstrated track record of high-impact research as evidenced by scholarly publications, and must exhibit strong potential (assistant rank) or an established record (higher rank) of extramural funding and teaching effectiveness. Applicants are expected to have a Ph.D. with research experience in these or closely aligned fields. Candidates with industrial experience are also encouraged to apply. Evidence should be provided of accomplishments and experiences that have prepared the applicant for diverse constituents in research, teaching and service. Candidates are expected to establish an independent extramurally supported research program, conduct collaborative research, be engaged in service activities, and teach electrical and computer engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
All candidates must have strong aptitude for effective teaching in core and specialized areas of our curriculum at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Faculty responsibilities include developing and maintaining an internationally recognized research program, effective classroom teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and service within the University and within professional communities.

Applicants must hold a PhD in ECE or a closely related discipline by the time of appointment.
