Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Information Systems (Open Rank)

The School of Business, home of the A. Gary Anderson Graduate School of Management (AGSM) at the University of California, Riverside, invites applications for a tenure-track/tenured faculty position in Information Systems. The desired start date is July 1, 2026.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Information Systems or a closely related field like Computer Science. We seek candidates with a demonstrated record of scholarly research and high-quality publications, as well as excellence in teaching and program development.  Candidates whose research and teaching focus on or extend to new and emerging areas of business and information technologies, like AI will be highly valued. We are building the IS area of our faculty to be strong in research and teaching that is relevant to current and future business needs in this domain, and we expect the new faculty hire to help provide leadership in this endeavor.

Depending on the candidate’s record, the position may be funded through a School of Business endowed chair, the “Ely Callaway Chair in Social Responsibility”.

The posted UC salary scales (https://www.ucop.edu/academic-personnel-programs/_files/2025-26/policy-covered-october-2025-scales/t3.pdf) set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. “Off-scale salaries” and other components of pay, i.e., a salary that is higher than the published system-wide salary at the designated rank and step, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions. A reasonable estimated nine-month salary range for the Assistant to Full Professor position is $160,000 to $340,000, inclusive of the salary scale and off-scale salary components.

Advancement through the faculty ranks at the University of California is through a series of structured, merit-based evaluations, occurring every 2-3 years, each of which includes substantial peer input.
