Job Description:

Veterans Services at Madison College is seeking a Student Support Coordinator to provide frontline support and serve as a primary in-person resource for students.

The Student Support Coordinator supports a high-quality student experience by assisting with frontline intake, triage, administrative support and coordinating access to services. In addition to maintaining accurate student records, and ensuring student-facing spaces operate efficiently.

In this role, the Student Support Coordinator must demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to connect students with appropriate advising, certification and support resources. This position also contributes to student engagement by supporting program-sponsored events, assisting with required documentation and providing guidance or oversight to student staff as needed.

Schedule: This is an onsite, part-time position working 20 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Regular schedule Monday through Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm.

Accountabilities:
  • Serves as a primary point of contact for walk-in, phone and online inquiries to ensure students and visitors receive timely assistance and are connected to appropriate college services.
  • Provides front-line support to students by guiding completion of intake documentation, facilitating onboarding processes, addressing general inquiries, and coordinating appointment scheduling with effective handoffs to appropriate staff.
  • Triages student concerns and questions across a broad range of topics including academic, veteran benefits, financial and personal needs to ensure timely referrals to relevant resources and services.
  • Ensures a welcoming, organized, and functional student lounge environment by monitoring space usage and providing appropriate support to meet student needs.
  • Coordinates with staff to support outreach, events and communication efforts including missing documentation, appointment tracking and student contact lists to enhance engagement and student retention.
  • Supports daily office operations by maintaining front desk coverage, ensuring accurate and compliant benefit documentation management, and supervising student employees
  • Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of enrollment processes, veteran education benefits, and student support services.
  • Skill in triaging student needs and coordinating referrals to benefit, academic, financial and personal support services.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
  • Ability to provide customer service and resolve concerns.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
  • Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.


Minimum Requirements:
  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant work experience.
