Job Description:
Financial Operations at Madison College is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support accurate financial processing, reconciliation and reporting across institutional financial activities.
The Accounting Analyst is responsible for managing cash receipts, monitoring financial accounts, reconciling ledgers, supporting financial aid reporting and resolving discrepancies in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, sound financial judgment and the ability to collaborate across departments to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
The Accounting Analyst contributes to institutional objectives by maintaining financial integrity, supporting compliance with financial aid and banking regulations and helping ensure efficient financial operations.
Schedule: This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year position. Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm, with a hybrid work schedule of three (3) days on campus and two (2) days virtual. This schedule is subject to change in accordance with Madison College policy.

Accountabilities:
- Ensures accurate financial transactions by creating and maintaining student and general account receivable reconciliations, training employees, and resolving issues related to daily deposits and system access.
- Oversees credit card processing and compliance by managing transactions, handling chargebacks and disputes and ensuring proper recording and reconciliation.
- Supports secure and efficient payment processing by establishing and maintaining sponsor accounts, coordinating system setups and ensuring compliance with financial policies.
- Ensures compliance with federal cash management and single audit requirements by processing accurate financial aid reconciliations and reporting.
- Monitors and maintains revenue distributions and allocations ensuring accurate recordkeeping and fiscal accountabiity.
- Ensures accurate financial reporting by allocating financial entries for designated programs and reconciling ledger accounts on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Facilitates efficient payment processing by managing electronic transactions, wire transfers and financial aid disbursements.
- Supports financial transparency by reviewing and applying bank statement transactions and distributing relevant information to appropriate departments.
- Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and reconciliation processes.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures, banking processes and electronic payment systems.
- Skill in using financial software and enterprise resource planning systems.
- Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Skill in analyzing financial data, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues.
- Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.
- Skill in effectively and respectfully communicating with others.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree or equivalent working experience. *Experience used as an equivalent of an educational requirement is in addition to any experience required by the position.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience
