Facility Operations Assistant 1, FT, Contingent Perm

Empire State University is seeking a candidate for a full-time Facility Operations Assistant 1 to work in our Saratoga Springs location.

The Facility Operations Assistant 1 will perform a variety of routine unskilled and semiskilled manual tasks related to the operation and maintenance of buildings and facilities, surrounding grounds and vehicles and equipment used in maintaining these sites.

Duties of this position will include the following:

Perform routine custodial cleaning of offices, classrooms, restrooms, hallways and common areas
Sweep, mop, vacuum and wash floors and carpets
Clean and disinfect restrooms and other high-touch surfaces
Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables
Set up, move and rearrange furniture, equipment and materials as needed
Lock and unlock buildings as directed
Operate cleaning and maintenance equipment
Perform seasonal snow removal
Assistant with general exterior and groundskeeping tasks
Conduct light maintenance tasks

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position and be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.

Work Hours:

Monday - Friday 11:00am - 7:00pm

Special Information: Must possess a valid NYS driver's license

Additional Information:

Salary: $36,232 - $44,828
