Position Summary:
The Department of Psychology, Criminal Justice, and Sociology in the School of
Arts, Culture, & Society at Messiah University invites applications for a faculty position
in Psychology beginning August 1, 2027.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: teaching four courses each semester, serving as academic advisor for students, participating in institutional service, and engaging in scholarship. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to providing students with research and/or other experiential learning opportunities.

Qualifications:
Successful candidates for hire into a Term-Tenure Track position, with rank depending on qualifications and experience, are expected to have a doctorate in psychology with preference for candidates who have experience teaching cognitive psychology, experimental psychology, and history and systems of psychology. Strong research skills are required. Candidates with experience in forensic psychology and/or experience in the justice system are encouraged to apply.

The Program:
The psychology program includes a range of subspeciality areas, with three distinct psychology majors, as well as a shared biopsychology major, and two accelerated programs (in occupational therapy and counseling).

The Department:
The Department of Psychology, Criminal Justice and Sociology provides a comprehensive examination of human behavior through various disciplinary lenses, from the human as an individual to the human as a social being. Rooted in Christian beliefs and practices, our programs intentionally integrate faith into teaching and learning. Additionally, we are committed to meaningful engagement with and service to our communities.
