Position Summary:
The Associate Director of Assessment and Accreditation reports to the Vice Provost of Academic Initiatives (VPAI)/ NWCCU Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) and the Director of General Education and Assessment (DGEA). This position oversees and supports institution-wide assessment as well as institutional and specialized accreditation initiatives. In doing so, the Associate Director helps the university fulfill its commitment to student success and continuous improvement. This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, unit administrators, and campus partners to design, develop, implement, and provide reports on academic, co-curricular, and student support assessment and program evaluation. The Associate Director helps units to design and implement data-informed assessments used to improve curriculum design and instructional delivery. With the DGEA and VPAI, the Associate Director collaborates with colleagues to build a culture of assessment that engages faculty and staff in using high-quality assessment findings to improve programs and, ultimately, students' academic and co-curricular outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Masters Degree in Educational Leadership, Research or Evaluation, Public or Business Administration, Educational Measurement, Cognition and Learning, or Educational Psychology or similar field.
  • Current or previous post-secondary assessment experience.
  • Experience with understanding and interpreting federal, regional and specialized education accrediting agencies guidelines and expectations.
  • Experience developing assessment programs in higher education settings.
  • Experience leading faculty and staff development workshops on program assessment and evaluation.
  • Experience with technical report writing.
  • Experience with social science statistical packages such as SAS, SYSTAT, or SPSS.
  • Experience with survey research and assessment theory, practices and methodology.





Preferred Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership, Research or Evaluation, Public or Business Administration, Educational Measurement, Cognition and Learning, Educational Psychology or similar field
  • Ability to identify and implement creative solutions to problems
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member while exercising discretion and judgment
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with faculty, staff, and administrators
  • Demonstrated skills in collaborative leadership
