About the Opportunity

The Assistant Director of Entrepreneurship at Northeastern Miami plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing the university's commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and the growth of startups in the region. This dynamic position involves collaborating with students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders to create a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem within Northeastern Miami. The Assistant Director will report to the AVP of Entrepreneurship & Venture Creation and design, implement, and oversee programs and initiatives that empower aspiring entrepreneurs and facilitate the development of new ventures as well as help students and individuals develop entrepreneurial skills.

Responsibilities:

Program Development: Design and execute innovative programs, workshops, and events that promote entrepreneurship and innovation among Northeastern Miami students and the broader community. Including, but not limited to, the Miami Innovators Academy, Entrepreneurship Trek, and Community Programs.
Networking and Partnerships: Build and maintain relationships with local entrepreneurs, investors, accelerators, and other key stakeholders to foster collaboration and opportunities for Northeastern Miami's entrepreneurial community.
Educational Workshops: Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and training sessions on various aspects of entrepreneurship, such as ideation, market research, funding, and business development.
Resource Allocation: Assist in the allocation of resources, including grants, funding opportunities, and co-working spaces, to support early-stage startups and innovative projects.
Student Engagement: Develop strategies to engage and educate students from diverse academic backgrounds in entrepreneurship and innovation, creating a culture of entrepreneurial thinking on campus.
Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze data related to program outcomes, startup success stories, and entrepreneurial activities to assess program effectiveness and make data-driven improvements.
Marketing and Outreach: Promote entrepreneurship programs and events through marketing and communication channels, both within the university and externally, to attract participants and raise awareness of Northeastern Miami's entrepreneurial offerings.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

3 - 7 years Prior experience in entrepreneurship, startup development, or innovation ecosystems.
Experience concepting, developing, and managing programs
Strong understanding of the local entrepreneurial landscape Miami.
Excellent communication, leadership, and networking skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
Passion for fostering entrepreneurship and innovation in higher education.
Experience engaging with funders, philanthropy, or sponsorships preferred.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent career experience in business, entrepreneurship, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Ability to self manage

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

Program Development & Management: Develop and manage multiple programs end to end including logistics, fundraising, marketing, budget management and execution.(60%)
Partner Development, Engagement, Management: Work in coordination with multiple internal stakeholders to develop and manage programs to engage partners across the startup and venture capital ecosystems. Additionally work with internal partners and resources to engage local alumni. (25%)
Fundraising & Enrollment: Secure the appropriate funding and enrollment to support Entrepreneurship Initiatives in Miami.(15%)
