Position Information

Hiring Department: Vice President for Student Affairs

Hours: 40 hours per week, standard Monday- Friday 8:00am- 5:00pm

FLSA status: Exempt

Earliest Start Date: As soon as possible.

Salary: $70,000 annually

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

The Director is involved in the strategic mission and vision of the division. The Director plays an integral role in the divisional annual reports that demonstrate a variety of high-impact experiences. The Director supports the promotion and assessment of activities, programs, and services through established learning outcomes and other metrics. The Director supports strategic initiatives of the division through project implementation and management. To be successful, the Director will need to work collaboratively with campus leaders, students, and departments throughout the University.

Essential Functions

Develop and implement a comprehensive assessment plan for the Division of Student Affairs that aligns with the university mission and strategic plan.

Create dashboards, infographics, and other data communication tools to demonstrate the impact on student success, including a divisional annual report



Manage and lead multiple strategic projects for the Division of Student Affairs to completion



Deliver results on assigned projects that demonstrate effective communication, team facilitation, problem-solving, and program success



Organize and manage accurate timelines of divisional projects, anticipating delays to ensure completion



Assist Student Affairs departments in conducting and reporting learning and program outcome evaluations



Administer, analyze, and generate reports on program initiatives and the student experience to inform Student Affairs departments, Academic Affairs partners, and campus leadership



Train Student Affairs staff to gather assessment evidence of student learning and development to improve programs and services



Lead the divisional assessment committee and yearly assessment symposium efforts



Maintain and manage Student Affairs assessment software platforms including training initiatives and accountability of use



Represent Student Affairs in University assessment initiatives, committees, etc.



Participate in University committees as appropriate



Participate in committees, trainings, and conferences hosted by industry professional organizations and UTEP



Other duties may be assigned



Comply with all federal, state, and University policies



Knowledge of all Microsoft Office software and able to learn and use institutional software systems



Understand and implement Student Affairs's role in accomplishing the University's mission



Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's objectives, policies, and applicable laws.








Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Master's Degree.





and

Experience: Four (4) years of professional work experience that includes assessment and project management. A proven ability to think strategically, be organized, be innovative, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders. Understanding of the assessment of student services and programs in a higher education context.

Preferred Qualifications:

Seven (7) years of professional experience at a college or university Student Affairs department including experience with assessment and project management. Demonstrated use of Anthology platforms. Experience providing presentations in assessment and leading teams
