External Relations Graduate Assistant

Position Summary
The External Relations Graduate Assistant will work with the Manager of External Relations, throughout the year, assisting in many roles relating to the fundraising and athletic sponsorships for the UIW Athletics.


This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Essential Functions
The External Relations Graduate Assistants duties for development include, but are not limited to: assistance with administrative work, stewardship responsibilities, donor deposits, management of UIW Athletics Cardinals Club memberships, social media, keynotes lead, set up and break down of events, and organizing UIW Athletics Cardinals Club events.

The External Relations Graduate Assistants duties for sponsorships include, but are not limited to: assistance with all sponsor proposals and contract, implementing sponsorship benefits, assistance with day to day responsibility with all the athletic sponsorship and sponsorship management.

The External Relations Graduate Assistant performs other duties as assigned.

-Strong writing and communication skills;
-Self-starter with the ability to work without supervision;
-Ability to use Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
-Ability and willingness to commute for project and duties assigned;
-Ability to work nights and weekends;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA

Required Education
Current UIW graduate student

Required Work Experience


Preferred Qualifications
One (1) year of work experience within a related field

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
Valid Texas drivers license with the ability to be insured through UIWs vehicle insurance carrier

Work Hours


Physical Demands
Ability to lift equipment, tools, and/or materials weighing up to 25 lbs waist-high.
