Description:
The Department of Computer Science at Baylor University seeks qualified candidates for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer position in Data Science. Successful candidates will have a Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Informatics, Computer Science, or a related field, a commitment to excellent teaching, and effective communication and organization skills. Selected candidates will be expected to teach a variety of classes in Data Science and fully engage in departmental programs. To ensure full consideration, please apply by December 1, 2023.

Data Science is one of the five signature academic initiatives of Baylor's "Illuminate" and "Illuminate Forward" Academic Strategic Plan, and has a McCollum Family Endowed Chair position in Data Science. Meanwhile, the number of undergraduates Data Science majors is growing rapidly, from 0 students in Spring 2020 to 95 students in Spring 2023.

About the department: Computer Science department statement: Computer Science is a fast-growing department within the School of Engineering and Computer Science. It offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science, a B.S. in Informatics with a major in Data Science, a B.S. in Informatics with a major in Bioinformatics, as well as Cybersecurity and Software Engineering concentrations. The Department has 15 full-time faculty, over 300 undergraduate majors, and 30 graduate students. Our faculty cover a broad range of research interests, including artificial intelligence, big data, bioinformatics, cybersecurity, data science, databases, distributed systems, fintech, and software engineering.
