Job Description:


PT Instructor, Nurse Assistant

Summer/Fall

Day Shift Opening and a Night Shift Opening

Danvers or Lynn

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Provide training for certificates in Nurse Assistant/ Home Health Care (CNA/HHA) and Dementia training programs. Instruct certification Nurse Assistant/Home Health/Dementia program comprising 87 hours classroom/lab hours and 24 hours supervision in a residential health care facility. Know and follow state Department of Public Health, Division of Health Care Quality guidelines for CNA/HHA curriculum and Hand in Hand Dementia Training to include the following topics: communications and interpersonal skills; infection control; safety and emergency procedures; promoting residents independence; respecting patients' rights. Prepare and keep materials for, and participate in periodic state on-site review to maintain DPH certification.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Create syllabus
  2. Instruct students in classroom, lab, and off-site clinical.
  3. Coordinate with clinical site times, patient assignment, and duties
  4. Assess & grade students regarding course competencies
  5. Adhere to DPH course requirements
  6. Submit grades to Division
  7. Administer evaluations



Requirements:


  • Registered Nurse
  • Current Massachusetts RN license
  • At least two years nursing experience
  • At least one year of experience providing long-term care services
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communication skills that demonstrate sensitivity to adult learners, non-native English speakers, and diversely prepared students. Bilingual skills a plus.
  • Experience with post-secondary learning programs.
  • Teaching or training experience preferred.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a CORI/SORI and/or a National background check as a condition of employment.



Additional Information:


Salary commensurate with education and experience.
