Mid Point Salary Range: $12.50/hour

Position Type: Non-Exempt Staff

Position Summary:
Provides a variety of routine to difficult office support to various College offices, which may include typing, word processing, receptionist duties, record keeping and filing.

Job Duties:

Answer phones and transfer to the appropriate staff member
Take and distribute accurate messages
Greet public and clients and direct them to the correct staff member
Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail
Prepare outgoing mail for distribution
Fax, scan and copy documents
Maintain office filing and storage units
Update and maintain databases such as mailing lists, contact lists and student information
Type documents, reports and correspondence
Co-ordinate and organize appointments
Assist with event planning and implementation
Monitor and maintain office supplies
Ensure office equipment is properly maintained and serviced
Perform work related errands
Keep office area clean and tidy



Minimum Education/Training/Experience:
Equivalent to graduation from high school and two five years of general clerical or office support experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience:
Associates degree preferred with experience working in post secondary education setting.

Minimum Knowledge and Skills:
Business arithmetic
Basic practices of reviewing financial documents for completeness and accuracy
Basic office practices and procedures; basic record keeping practices
Basic computer applications related to the work
Organization and planning skills
Work management and prioritizing skills
Performing detailed office support work
Maintaining accurate records
Following policies and procedures; paying close attention to detail
Reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy
Have communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor and the general public.
Problem solving ability
Operating standard office equipment
