Job Description:


Essential Functions:

The part-time ETF Para-Educator Outreach Counselor reports to the ETF Director and will work closely with the ETF Para-Educator Instructor as well as the Corporate and Community Education (CCE) staff to provide advising and general support services for students participating in the Para-Professional Education ETF program. They will provide academic and career advisement, conduct weekly check-ins with assigned students to ensure they have needed resources and are successfully progressing through the program. They will assist in completing administrative tasks (e.g., responding to calls, emails, walk-ins). The ETF Part-time Para-Educator Outreach Counselor will also assist with other CCE programming as needed.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Part-time Para-Educator Outreach Counselor, ETF include:
  • Assists in conducting ETF student registration and orientation
  • Provide instructional and supplemental support and instruction during the program's learning modules, as needed
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and college departments regarding needs and/or services for the ETF students
  • Organizes regular check-in sessions to assist this population in adjusting to college life
  • Conducts student surveys to determine student needs
  • Conducts exit interview for withdrawal from ETF programming
  • Assists with administrative tasks associated with department activities (e.g., prepares class materials, student surveys, reports, forms, and general correspondence)
  • Receive and respond to inquiries via telephone, mail, email, and/or walk-ins
  • Perform other duties as assigned



Requirements:


  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Paraprofessional Educator

Preferred:
  • Para Pro certification and/or experience with the Para Pro exam
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification
  • Experience in a higher education or workforce development environment with an understanding of barriers to higher education and/or training faced by some students
  • Experience with grant-funded or similar short-term workforce development programs, including recruitment, assessment, support, and data collection.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills

Position Status:

This position is funded for the fiscal year 2025 (FY25) with the potential for long-term based on continued funding availability.

Hours: 8:30 am - 3:00 pm Monday-Thursday; no more than 18 hours/week (Not to exceed 936 hours annually), with occasional nights and weekends as needed.

Salary: $32.00 per hour

Worksite: Assignments will include all Massasoit sites and additional locations as necessary.
