Location

This position will work on both the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

Our Kennesaw campus is located at 1000 Chastain Road NW, Kennesaw, GA 30144. Our Marietta campus is located at 1100 South Marietta Parkway, Marietta, GA 30060.

Department Information

The Keeping Sights Upward (KSU) Journey Honors College exists to support excellence in undergraduate education at Kennesaw State University by recruiting and retaining highly motivated and academically talented students, offering them opportunities to participate in intellectual challenges, enhanced academic experiences, community engagement, leadership, and global activities. The college houses both honors pathways and prestigious cohort programs. The honors pathways provide a flexible curriculum focused on small sections of core courses, interdisciplinary Honors seminars, and experiential learning such as community service and leadership activities, domestic and international travel, internships, and undergraduate research and creative activity. Honors cohorts are built on the same philosophy and include both interdisciplinary first-year cohorts and discipline-specific cohorts. The college is also the home of National and International Scholarship and Fellowship advising for the entire university.

As of Fall 2023, there are 1,888 honors students enrolled in the KSU Journey Honors College. Honors students enjoy the support of a highly engaged community of learners but have access to all the advantages of a vibrant, large R2 research university.

DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manages honors advising including coordinating advising campaigns, supervising honors academic advisors, coordinating and delivering welcome sessions for incoming honors students, and providing advisement.
2. Coordinates with university-wide advising community to implement best practices and support their initiatives as appropriate.
3. Works to support student retention and success by maintaining student records, managing enrollment in honors courses, collecting data, and creating appropriate programming/initiatives in collaboration with other members of the honors college faculty/staff.
4. Serves as the honors liaison to housing for the Honors Living and Learning Village.
5. Serves to support the Double Owl programs in collaboration with the graduate college.
6. Position supervises advisors on both campuses, expectation is that the program manager will split time between the Kennesaw and Marietta campuses.

' An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field

Job Summary

Develops, organizes and implements comprehensive programs in the assigned college, department and/or unit. Responsible for preparing and organizing programs and activities. Promotes programs internal and external to the university and evaluates effectiveness. Ensures programs comply with university and USG policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*:
1. Develops, prepares, coordinates and implements assigned programs
2. Manages and facilitates department communications including program marketing, website creation, mobile applications and social media
3. Serves as liaison and communicates with academic divisions, colleges and departments
4. May assists in developing, monitoring and managing budget processes
5. Manages event planning, marketing and logistics
6. Interprets, evaluates, develops and implements policies and procedures
7. Creates, administers, and analyzes assessment programs
8. Facilitates program components, post-program evaluation and operational reporting
9. Assists with developing new programming
10. Prepares operational reports and analysis to inform center-level reporting and decision-making
11. May supervise assigned staff and/or student assistants

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience
Three (3) years of related work experience

Proposed Salary

The budgeted salary range is $54,160 to $69,000. Offers are based on relevant experience.
