Programmer/Analyst

Position Summary
The Programmer/Analyst is responsible for analysis, programming, testing, and maintenance of software, reports, and interfaces that enhance the university's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, and third-party systems. The Programmer/Analyst is also responsible for collaborating with third-party vendors in planning and coordinating system upgrades as well as delivering end-user support related to the university's ERP system and associated third-party interfaced systems and peripherals.


This position is considered a Responsible Employee under Title IX federal regulations and Mandatory Reporter under Texas state law and The UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter this position requires you as the employee to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about violating Title IX. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Required Education
Bachelors degree in the field of computer information systems, information technology, computer science, or related field

Required Work Experience
Experience with:
-QL, PL/SQL, and/or other scripting languages;
-Complex relational database structures;
-Programming business applications;
-Systems analysis;
-Report writing tools;
-Project management techniques;
-Supporting enterprise resource planning and administrative systems

Preferred Qualifications
-Knowledge in building data interfaces;
-Knowledge of networks and infrastructure;
Experience with:
-Supporting the Ellucian Banner ERP or other ERP serving higher education;
-Oracle or other relational databases;
-Groovy language and Grails java web framework;
-C, PL/SQL, COBOL, Java, PERL, PHP;
-Banner Document Management;
-Evisions products such as Argos, Intellecheck, and Formfusion;
-Banner Self-Service and web tailor;

Work Hours
Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM with evenings and weekends as necessary

Physical Demands
This position frequently sits, uses hands and vision for office equipment such as computers, talk or hear, high telephone usage and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The majority of time is spent in an office environment with some time spent facilitating client meetings in conference room facilities. The noise level in the work environment is typically minimal.
