This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code 51.215, which authorizes the employer to obtain criminal history record information. A valid driver's license issued by the State where the applicant resides and insurability as defined in UTS 157 may be required to perform the position's essential functions.



Purpose of Position

Coordinates program objectives related to fostering strategic research partnership both internal and external to the University. The position will assist in facilitating research initiatives objectives of interdisciplinary team building and fostering relationships with federal agencies and national labs. The incumbent will be responsible for various functions, including strategic planning, team building, project management, and event coordination.

Essential Functions:

Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement strategic plans for research development.

Assist in identifying and assessing opportunities for collaboration with federal agencies to advance research objectives.

Coordinates the analysis of trends and emerging opportunities in the field to inform strategic decision-making.

Facilitate communication and collaboration among team members and national research labs.

Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.

Contribute to the development and execution of business strategies to enhance research development activities.

Monitor expenditures and financial performance against budgetary targets.

Maintain accurate records, documentation, and databases related to research development activities.

Provide administrative support by preparing reports, presentations, and other materials as needed.

Plan and coordinate events, workshops, and conferences related to research development.



Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure successful event execution.



Manage logistics, including venue selection, catering, and participant communication.

Develop and organize agendas for meetings, workshops, and collaborative sessions.

Facilitate effective communication and decision-making during meetings.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., business, science, engineering)

and

Experience: Four (4) years of related experience or training; OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:



Proven experience in program coordination, project management, or research development.

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.



Proficiency in budgeting, strategic planning, and event coordination.



Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.



Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
