Position Description
Performs specialized compliance activities related to research compliance, including human subjects, animal care, conflict of interest and/or export control. May plan, assign and supervise the work of others.

Major/Essential Functions
  • Conduct independent post-approval monitoring visits of human research protocols, review protocol regulatory documents, informed consent process and data collection. Conduct independent post-approval monitoring of disclosures related to financial conflict of interest, research security, and export control. Review disclosures for accuracy and transparency. Generate and update research protocol monitoring lists. Coordinate and schedule post approval monitoring visits and, as needed, follow-up visits.
  • Maintain post approval monitoring report files, communicate findings and deficiencies directly to the principal investigator, compliance office/board, TTU administration/institutional officials, and regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct audit activities to identify adverse events, discrepancies and protocol violations, compliance offices/ boards and provide reports to principal investigator, compliance office/board, TTU administration/ institutional officials, and/or regulatory agencies. Provide procedural guidance to investigators when adverse events or violations are minor, to ensure policy and regulatory compliance are maintained.
  • Maintain and update post approval monitoring policies and procedures. Develop and provide post approval monitoring education sessions for researchers.
  • Engage with university and affiliate research departments to ensure compliance with federal regulations and institutional policies. When appropriate, in instances concerning research grants, the Administrator will work with the Sponsored Programs Administration to verify concurrence with the grant proposal.


Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in job related field plus three years of related experience; OR a combination of related education and or experience equal to seven years.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in job related field.
  • Capable of handling several tasks/projects at a time and prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Ability to work closely with other staff members on projects.
  • Willingness to work in a supporting role and accept directions.
  • Comfortable and able to work within an electronic environment.
  • A demonstrated understanding of applicable federal and state regulations.
  • Some IT system background of online submission software.
