Student Assistant for the Dean's Office

Position Summary
The Student Assistant for the Dean's Office of the School of Media & Design (SMD) provides administrative and graphic support for the Dean of the School of Media and Design.

Essential Functions
Essential functions include:
-Provide general office assistance;
-Typing;
-Answer phones;
-Run errands;
-Filing;
-Prepare monthly welcome letters to incoming students using merge function on Microsoft Word;
-Perform other duties as assigned

Deliver, pick up items from registrar, business office, accounts payable, provost, etc.

Provide assistance with graphic design projects as assigned by the dean. Assist with website updates.

Person holding this position must be discreet, respect the privacy of others and not disclose confidential or privileged information.

Job Duties



Knowledge Skills and Abilities
-Ability to use HP and Apple computers;
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Office, and Adobe InDesign;
-Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures;
-Employee shall adhere to all applicable rules and regulations of the University, the Conference, and the NCAA.

Required Education
Current UIW student

Required Work Experience
No experience required, training will be available.

Preferred Qualifications
-Experience in an office setting;
-Adobe Photoshop;
-Adobe Illustrator

Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations


Work Hours
Hours are flexible. Will coordinate with students class schedule and will not exceed 20 hours per week.

Physical Demands
-May require sitting for long periods of time;
-May require lifting.
